Vanuatu's 29th Independence Anniversary - Tanoliu Village, Havannah Harbour

We all went ashore in the dinghy in Port Havannah to the village of Tanoliu to join in their celebrations for Independence Day….. with a band singing/ playing on a stage beside the road, lots of stalls selling laplap and of course we tasted some Vanuatu kava - stronger than Fijian kava (but in our opinion no more tasty! ) The atmosphere was joyful with lots of people wearing Vanuatu flags in their hair or draped around their stalls; everyone was having a great time and we were made to feel very welcome.

Unfortunately the next morning on leaving our anchorage, we found we had caught something around the propeller so we dived on it and cut the plastic mesh bag off. Tintin's bottom is now very badly fouled, so Richard and I gave the waterline a good scrub in the hope of improving boat speed somewhat.
